FAIRLEIGH – One man was shot and killed after allegedly trying to rob an off-duty security guard in Fairleigh.
The incident happened late last night, at around 9.30pm.

According to an unofficial source, two men approached the security guard and attempted to rob him at knife point. In self-defense the guard then allegedly shot one of the suspects, fatally wounding him.
The source reported that police and emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene, and the suspect was pronounced dead.
At this stage, it cannot be confirmed if the second suspect was apprehended, as police investigations are still underway.
