THINGS seem to be looking up for the family at Lenjane whose roof was removed, after a man claiming to have bought the land on which they were living, was determined to make their lives a misery.
Victoria Buthelezi and her family were left without a roof on Wednesday, October 5, after unknown males had climbed on top of her house and removed the corrugated iron during a storm, while she and her family were inside.
A man by the name of Linda Nyandeni is said to have sent these males to remove the roof after he had claimed to have taken ownership of this piece of land and wanted them out.
When asked to produce paperwork that proved that this land belonged to him, the man is said to have become upset and left a message that he would sort the matter out.
After the story was published in the Vryheid Herald two weeks ago, Nyandeni was approached by the Ulundi police who questioned him concerning why he had done things in this manner. It was also found that Nyandeni did not have a title deed for the property.
The matter will now be taken to court and the family will be informed of how this matter can move forward.
