A bomb threat came in this morning (November 24), causing havoc at the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court.
The court was evacuated and the surrounding area was cordoned off, keeping locals at a safe distance.

According to police communications officer Captain Charmaine Struwig, a bomb threat is seen as a criminal offence and the guilty can be sentenced to prison time.
If a minor makes a bomb threat, the parents are held responsible.
A bomb threat is seen as an act of terrorism in that you are terrorising the community.
This morning’s scare kept a lot of people out of work for a few hours.
In this case, the bomb threat was just a hoax and the court is safe.
