Peacevale residents gear up to fight back with police backing

A meeting will take place next week at the Dundee Police Station with the sub forum and SAPS members.

Following a spate of break-ins and robberies, that have left many traumatised, Peacevale residents are taking a stand.
On Thursday, December 1, Peacevale community members came together for a meeting at the Dundee Police Station concerning the creation of a community sub-forum. Members were selected and have already begun operating in the area.
The creation of a sub-forum is great news for many, including pensioners and the less fortunate who cannot afford to pay for private security. “Our intention is not only focused on our safety, but also on our well-respected elders who have been living in fear and having sleepless nights due to all the robberies that have been taking place,” said one of the members. The community partnership will patrol throughout the night, watching the whole of Peacevale from every entrance, observing the activities taking place in every street and on every corner. The members are also fully armed.
The sub forum thanked the Dundee SAPS who are standing 100% with them and are working full out to help make Peacevale a crime-free area. A meeting will take place next week at the Dundee Police Station with the sub forum and SAPS members.
