Queue-less shopping coming to a store near you in 2017?

Okay, maybe you will have to live in a first world country like America to benefit in 2017

Shopping is a ‘chore’ and at Christmas time, queuing to pay for your purchases can make you feel like a Grinch.

Well, Amazon hopes to end shopping queues forever and de-Grinchify you.

The ‘how’ is very simple: they have created a prototype store (Amazon Go) in the US that you can walk in, grab what you want and walk out. The store electronically records your purchases and as you leave, it bills your smart device.

If you currently work as a cashier in a South African supermarket, fear not, as this technology is unlikely to reach SA anytime soon.

In fact, only one store in America is expected to officially open with the technology next year… But as companies look towards cutting costs and people demand more convenience, expect stores similar to the Amazon Go store to spread.
