That is the fate a 14-year-old in Rensburgdrift allegedly faced at midnight on December 5.
The girl was asleep in the comfort of her home when she heard the footfalls of someone inside the house. Police reports state that the teenager was dragged from her home and raped at gunpoint.
The suspect has been evading police and no arrests have been made. Inkatha Freedom party (IFP) Councillor Mthembeni Majola who was called shortly after the incident took place said that the suspect was allegedly known to the family.
The 14-year-old reportedly lives with her sister and father, her mother is deceased. She was taken to the District Surgeon for an examination on December 5.
“At this time no arrests have been made, the matter is still being investigated,” commented police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig.
