Two killed in hit and run cases in Dannhauser

Police urge motorists and pedestrians to be safe on the roads this season

Two people have been killed in two separate hit-and-run cases in the Dannhauser area.
On December 5, Queen Khumalo (56), was knocked by a taxi on the Annandale Farm gravel road. She was rushed to hospital but sadly succumbed to her injuries upon arrival. It is alleged that the taxi driver, whose name is known to police, did not stop after knocking over the lady, nor did he report the accident. Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide and failing to report an accident.
The next day, an 18-year-old was killed after he was knocked over by a vehicle on the Kiel Kiel/ Mfundweni road. Sanele Mkhize was rushed to Nellies Clinic but sadly passed away at the clinic. A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.
“We would like to urge all pedestrians and motorists to be extra careful on the roads, especially during this busy time of year because many are losing their lives unnecessarily,” Dannhauser Communications Officer, Sgt Nyembe said.
