Raffle raises R20 000

Community members supported the raffle and hoped to win one of the lovely prizes that were up for grabs

A highly successful raffle fundraising drive for the Estcourt Animal Shelter was concluded on Sunday. Ishwar Jaggernath took on the fundraising project earlier this year with the aim of assisting the Estcourt Animal Shelter, which is a community-driven non-profit organisation that relies solely on the generosity of the public and its committee members.

Prizes to the value of R10 000 were generously donated by Simunye and the Macksons Group. Community members supported the raffle and hoped to win one of the lovely prizes that were up for grabs.

On Sunday morning, all the raffle tickets were verified and the lucky draw took place. Altogether R20 000 was raised for the shelter.

Mr Jaggernath was in for a big surprise when his name was drawn as the main prize winner. He won a 50 inch television.

The second prize, a home theatre system, was won by Pam Venter. Kavisha Jaggernath won the third raffle prize, which was a micro hi-fi.
