Being a teenager going through puberty can cause much anxiety. Simultaneously, important decisions like choosing school subjects, add to the strain.
Founder of BigSister, Sithabile Nkosi, hosted her second workshop for girls on December 11. The workshop focused on career guidance, self-confidence, girl talk, grooming and much more.
Guest speakers shared their own personal experiences, putting the girls at ease to freely contribute to the discussions.
Parents who brought their daughters to the workshop were commended.
“It is important for young girls to attend empowerment workshops so they can be groomed and learn about real life issues from people who have experienced them. This could help increase their confidence to make decisions without being pressured by their peers,” said Ms Nkosi.
