Two unlicensed firearms recovered in Ematsheni

Police at Ematsheni working with Ladysmith Crime Intelligence members arrested a 28-year-old man on December 15 for the possession of two unlicensed firearms.

The man was arrested in the Zwelisha area, Ematsheni at 8am after he was found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol and a revolver.
Four rounds of ammunition were also found.

The man appeared in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court on December 19 on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

The firearms will be sent away for ballistic tests to determine whether it may have been used anywhere in the country to commit crime.
