Two people died after they were knocked over by vehicles in two separate incidents.

The first victim was 56-year-old Queen Khumalo,who was knocked over by a taxi on the Annandale Farm gravel road on November 28. She was rushed to hospital and died on December 5. The suspect is known, and police are investigating a case of culpable homicide and the failure to report an accident.

In the second incident, 18-year-old Sanele Mkhize was knocked over on the Kiel-Kiel/Mfundweni road on December 6. He was rushed to Nellies Clinic and died at the clinic. A case of culpable homicide is under investigation.

“We would like to urge all pedestrians and motorists to be extra careful when they are on the road, especially during this busy time of the year because many people are losing their lives unnecessarily,” advised the police.
