Nofta reminisces on achievements

Newcastle Organisation for the Aged (Nofta), held its annual year end function on December 14.

The event highlighted Nofta’s achievements and successes for 2016, and recognised the efforts of the executive and working committees.

Founded in 1992, Nofta has been an historical journey of excellence, love and dedication, serving the elderly in Newcastle.

Secretary of Nofta, Bully Singh, said the successful development and progressive growth of the organisation was owed to all the past presidents and current president, Rajesh Ramdaw.

To date, membership exceeds 340 and continues to grow, making it one of the largest organisations of its kind in the country, exclusively for the aged. Nofta maintains high standards in providing quality care and entertainment for senior citizens.

Nofta committee members thanked all donors, Department of Social Development and the community for their support, and wished them a joyous festive season and prosperous new year. Nofta will resume its services on January 4, and the committee wished its members a happy holiday.
