Sgt Khumalo, who has been in the SAPS for 13 years, and three years in HRD, said it was with a sense of pride that she accepted her award.
“It feels good to be acknowledged for the work we have done.”
Both officers said it was a lot of work to equip police officers.
“We have to stay up to date with legislature and put in hard work, but it is worth it when someone comes to you and says what you taught them helped them in the field,” W/O Claassen said.
Sgt Khumalo said they were also contacted by police officers outside of the classroom for advice, which showed their work was appreciated.
Both officers concurred it was their love for their job that motivated them to strive for excellence.
