Police recover illegal firearms and restore peace

No ammunition was recovered with the firearms.

Two men, aged 29 and 35, will appear in the Ezakheni court this week, facing charges of being in possession of illegal firearms.

Both men were arrested during the course of the weekend and were found with firearms they did not have licences for.

The men were caught by surprise when officers pounced on them at their homes in the Mcitsheni area of Ezakheni.

Two 9mm pistols will be sent for ballistic testing to determine if they were used in any crimes. No ammunition was recovered with the firearms.

Police vow to continue removing illegal firearms from the hands of criminals and to restore peace to the community of Ezakheni.
