“The suspect was wanted by Ladysmith as well as Ezakheni detectives for two cases of business robbery which had occurred during December and early January, in the Ladysmith area as well as for an attempted murder case which occurred in the Ezakheni area.”

The suspect was arrested in the Steadville area, and was found in possession of a .38 revolver and ammunition at the time. He is due to appear in court soon and will face charges of business robbery, attempted murder as well as the possession of an unlicensed firearm.

The firearm will be subject to ballistic testing

KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa commended the members for their outstanding work in the area.

“The recovered firearm will reduce the killing of innocent people. We will investigate the matter and see if the suspect is linked to other crimes in the province,” he concluded.
