840 mandrax tablets seized in Wembezi

Mandrax tablets with a street value of more than R50 000 have been seized from a home in Wembezi’s Emahhashini section.

Members from the Wembezi Visible Policing Unit received an anonymous tip-off and swooped on the suspect at his home on Saturday morning.

“During the operation 840 mandrax tablets were recovered and a 40-year-old suspect was arrested. The drugs have an estimated street value of over R52 000,” commented police spokesperson Captain Charmaine Struwig.

The suspect was charged with possession of drugs and appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
