Armed robbers target restaurant on McKenzie Street

Second store on McKenzie Street to be robbed this month

Two men, one armed with a gun, made off with goods to the value of over R16 000 when they robbed a restaurant on McKenzie Street.

The men entered the store at midday and forced the owner and his mother to lay on the floor.

They then stole a cellphone, firearm, cigarettes and cash before fleeing.

No injuries were reported.

The case is currently under investigation.

This is the second store on McKenzie Street to be targeted by armed robbers this month.

A hardware store was also the target of armed robbers who got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
