Three men aged 23, 27 and 40 appeared in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on January 19. They face charges of being in possession of suspected stolen stock.
Excellent detective work by members from the Estcourt Stock Theft Unit resulted in them being arrested in the act.
The suspects were driving three head of cattle that had been stolen earlier in the morning at the Ennersdale Stock Sale Yard when police intercepted and arrested them.
It was later established that one of the suspects was tasked to look after a neighbour’s cattle, but instead made off with them. The cattle are valued at over R24 000.
