
Three men, aged between 30 and 33, were arrested over the weekend for two separate incidents of robbery.
The first incident saw a 67-year-old man being robbed at gunpoint in Lyell Street. He was threatened with a knife by two men who stole his cell-phone and cash.
Ladysmith Community Service Centre officers arrested one of the suspects, a 30-year-old man. He appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today (January 30) on charges of robbery.
In the second incident, a 29-year-old man was walking in Steadville when he was approached by two men. One of them pulled out a firearm and pointed it at him, after which they stole his cell-phones.
The two men, both aged 33, were arrested on the same day by Ladysmith K9 Unit officers. The suspects will be answering to a charge of armed robbery.
Detectives are in the process of investigating possible links to other cases of robbery in the town.
