Arrests for housebreaking in Observation Hill, Ladysmith

Three classrooms at a school in the area were broken into and several items, including cash, were taken

Two arrests have been made for two separate incidents of housebreaking that took place in the Observation Hill area.

The first incident took place on Monday, January 23.

A house in Louis Botha Road was broken into and several items were stolen. The homeowner was informed telephonically that a strange person was on her property.

The alarm was raised and the man was chased and apprehended.

The second incident took place on Friday, January 27.

Three classrooms at a school in the area were broken into and several items, including cash, were taken.

A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with this incident.

They face charges of housebreaking with intent to steal and theft.
