Dannhauser police deal swiftly with dagga menace

Found men were arrested for being in possession of the drug

Dannhauser Police are clamping down on drug use and abuse in the area.

They recently arrested four men who were found in possession of dagga.

One of the men, a 44-year-old, was arrested after he tried to run away from police. Officer ND Qwabe received information that a man was carrying dagga near the bus rank.  When they approached him, he started to run.

Realising that the police were gaining on him, he threw the dagga to the ground and continued to flee. Police, however, apprehended him and he was charged for possession of dagga.

The other three men, aged between 22 and 27-years-old were arrested by Const PT Khumalo who was attending a burglary complaint at Verdriet Farm. He found the men in a house with the dagga.

They were then arrested and have since appeared in the Dannhauser Magistrate Court.
