“I went to the police station on Saturday, January 28, to open a case.”

As the robbery took place on Thursday, January 26, she knew the odds were not in her favour.

However, she discovered that the scales of justice worked swiftly.

“While I was walking to work after opening the case, a cellphone shop owner near my work stopped me.”

Allegedly two men had brought a cellphone to his store to be charged.

“Apparently, while the phone was charging, he decided to look through the photo gallery and saw photos of me.”

“I had told him the previous day my phone was stolen, so when he saw my photos, he knew that it was my phone the two men had brought in,” Ms Coulson said.

A plan was set in motion to capture the two culprits.

As the two men had taken a selfie of themselves, it was soon discovered where they hung around during the day.

“I contacted the police, before showing the picture of the men to two security guards.”

Following the lead on the cellphone, the security guards located the men and took the suspects to Ms Coulson’s place of employment.

“We handcuffed them and the police then took them into custody.”

It was discovered the second culprit had bought the cellphone from the perpetrator.

Disappointed some of her photos were deleted, Ms Coulson is glad she has her phone back.

Police Communication Liaison and Marketing spokesperson, Lizzy Arumugam said a case of common robbery was opened.
