Rock Python captured in Mngwenya

The snake has been identified as a Rock Python and is about three meters long

A slithery visitor made its presence felt when it slipped into a family yard and feasted on two chickens in Mngwenya near Willowgrange yesterday.

Emergency services received a call from the homeowner at about 3.30pm and the fire department was mobilised to capture and remove the snake.

The snake has been identified as a Rock Python and is about three meters long.

The python was captured by four Fire Department personnel who thereafter released the snake at the Weenen Game Reserve.
