The manhole cover in Kudu Avenue has been missing since October. It was brought to the attention of the municipality on October 20, 2016.

Two manholes without covers in Kudu Avenue and Kirkland Street pose a potential danger to pedestrians.

“I reported the missing manhole cover in Kirkland Street eight months ago, but nothing has been done.

There are schoolchildren who walk here; what if they fall in?” asked an angry resident, who opted to remain anonymous.

The manhole cover in Kudu Avenue has been missing since October. It was brought to the attention of the municipality by the Newcastle Sun on October 20, 2016. The municipality responded to an enquiry on October 24, 2016, but the problem remains unresolved.

The municipality was sent a media enquiry on February 9 to determine when the manholes would be covered, but no comment was forthcoming at the time of going to print.

The open manhole in Kudu Avenue was reported to the municipality in October 2016.
