Police swoop on suspected drug peddlers
Police recovered dagga estimated to be valued in excess of R150 000
Drug peddlers have been issued with a stern warning: police will pounce at any time, irrespective of their hiding place. This comes after Visible Policing members arrested two men aged 21 and 23 for dagga possession.
The pair was arrested during the early hours of Wednesday morning in the Mhlwazini area of Bergville. The officers received information about the dagga and rushed out to the scene where they located and arrested the suspects. Police recovered dagga estimated to be valued in excess of R150 000.
“These drugs are destroying our future leaders and we will therefore do everything within our control to remove them from our streets and from within our societies. We call on parents to play a greater role in keeping their children away from the temptation of experimenting in drugs,” commented KwaZulu-Natal Acting Provincial Commissioner, Major General Bheki Langa.
