Circle Road in Ladysmith has motorists driving in circles around potholes
The condition of the road has deteriorated to the extent that there are huge potholes that motorists have to swerve to miss
Business owners and motorists who use Circle Road in the Ladysmith industrial area have literally been driving in circles for the past few months.
This is because the condition of the road has deteriorated to the extent that there are huge potholes that motorists have to swerve to avoid.
The storm-water drains are blocked and every single day the road fills up with water, becoming like a river.

One business owner says that water is constantly on the roadway and has created a mini swamp, with mud and algae.
“Some potholes are so big a car might even get stuck in them,” quipped one motorist.
Workers in the area say it looks like Circle Road has been forgotten by the authorities, and left to go to rack and ruin.
Business owners ask how they are meant to run their businesses when customers can’t even drive to their premises because the road is so bad.
“We want the road fixed so that we can go back to normal business and have a proper road, not just a dirt road with huge holes,” is the general consensus from business owners in the area.
