Update: Armed robbery at OK Grocer supermarket and hijacking linked?
Held at gunpoint, the thugs took the women’s cell-phones and safe keys
At this stage, police are investigating this morning’s (March 22) armed robbery at a local supermarket and the hijacking of a vehicle in Poort Road. Police are unable to confirm whether the two cases are linked as yet.
A group of armed robbers are still on the run after robbing the OK Grocer supermarket in Delhi Road.
Two of the criminals gained entry by posing as normal customers, joining up with an accomplice who was waiting for them near the offices.
Once the men arrived, CCTV footage shows an accomplice appearing to lead the robbers up the stairs towards the Cash Room. The robbers stormed into the room…

Caught by surprise, two women who were packing the cash box, which was set to be picked up by a security company, were shocked when the door opened and their worst nightmare became a reality.
Held at gunpoint, the thugs took the women’s cell-phones and safe keys, and helped themselves to the cash box that was filled with money.
A massive manhunt is underway for the three suspects. Be on the lookout (BOLO) for a grey Golf with ND registration.
A white VW Caddy with registration NKR 33460 was hijacked in Poort Road just a few minutes after the robbery.
Secure SA and police are on the lookout for the vehicle.
If anyone sees this vehicle, they should contact Secure SA or the police immediately.
