Bail for 13 armed robbery suspects

One of the firearms they were found with had a serial number that was linked to a case in Johannesburg, while another was linked to a case in Nongoma.

THE 13 men who were caught in possession of illegal firearms on February 12 have been released on bail of R1000 per person.

According to the SAPS’ Captain Attie Engelbrecht, the 13 refused to see the investigations team throughout their custody period.

“Due to the fact that they refused to see us, we were unable to investigate this case properly and get more details,” said Captain Engelbrecht.

The men are allegedly linked to other cases. One of the firearms they were found with had a serial number that was linked to a case in Johannesburg, while another was linked to a case in Nongoma.

The bail hearing for these men was supposed to be on April 5 but it is currently unclear whether or not they will appear and how they will be found should they not appear as the residential information they provided was very vague.
