18700 CV’s received for AbaQulusi Private Hospital, more vacancies to be advertised soon

160 jobs will be created with the opening of the AbaQulusi Private Hospital in Vryheid.

We asked director of the AbaQulusi Private Hospital, Thami Mlotshwa: How many people have been employed? Are there still vacancies that need to be filled? How many positions will be filled with local people?

Here is his response:

According to Mr Mlotshwa, 15 members of the management team have already been employed, comprising of executive directors, unit managers, the human resources manager, finance manager and CEO. AbaQulusi Private Hospital is already paying combined salaries on R363 000 per month in order to retain the specialised skills sets these people can offer.

In total, the hospital will employ 160 people. So far, the recruitment company has received 18 700 applications for various positions at the hospital.

“We are still appointing staff, so if you have not yet received a request for an interview from us, you may still get a call. There are still more positions that will be advertised in the Vryheid Herald soon. I would like to clarify the fact that I will not personally be handling the filling of any vacancies from this point. Recruitment of staff has been left entirely in the hands of the human resources manager and the management team of the hospital,” said Mr Mlotshwa.

All functions that do not relate to the core function of the hospital, including cleaning, laundry, medical waste removal, security, and catering has been outsourced to local businesses, which will be engaging in their own recruitment processes soon.
