The countdown is on: Newcastle Mall’s 8 km Rainbow Run
Tickets are sold at R25 per person, and there are loads of prizes to be won. Each participant will receive a free gift bag before commencing the race and a medal on completion.
The Newcastle Mall’s annual 8 km Rainbow Run is almost here and it’s time to dust off those trainers.
This year the event will take place on Monday, September 25. Yes, it’s a public holiday, so no excuses!
Whether you walk for fitness or just for the fun of it, the walk is an event fit for the whole family.
What better way to kick-start your road to a healthier lifestyle than walking 8 kms?
If this sounds like a plan to you, make your way to the Newcastle Mall at the Edgars Court (entrance two), as registrations are now open.

The start and end points will be at the Newcastle Mall, Taxi rank area, Oak Street.
Prizes for the race winners are:
For male and female winners
First prize – R1 000 in vouchers.
Second prize – R800 in vouchers.
Third prize – R500 in vouchers.
Other category prizes include:
– A family prize
– Under 12 years old
– Over 60 years old
– Best dressed prize and
– Best water table.
The Newcastle Advertiser will be hosting a water table along with other watering holes, so be sure to look out for the team and don’t miss the chance to get your photo taken.
Be part of the #ColourfulMeSelfie competition on the Newcastle Advertiser’s Instagram, and show off your best Rainbow Run photo’s. A fabulous prize is up for grabs, for the best selfie!
The mall will also host local cultural entertainment on the day from 10am and a prize-giving ceremony for the race will commence at 12pm.
