Home Meah welcomes generous donation

This donation formed part of the Methodist Church in Africa's many outreach programmes hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal District Women’s Prayer Union.

Home Meah received a very generous gift of nappies, food and fresh vegetables from the Young Women Of Prayer (YWOP), the Izintombi Zokuthandaza Group, on September 3.

This donation formed part of the Methodist Church in Africa’s many outreach programmes hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal District Women’s Prayer Union.

The group’s members are from 10 churches around the Madadeni area, and they believed outreach programmes such as these played a vital role in society in assisting the underprivileged.

President and founder of the two groups, Mpo Kate said the donation was to be followed by more similar donations of necessities. The YWOP was planning to conduct outreach programmes on a more frequent basis in the future.

The group spent the day with the children and had a first-hand look into their lives at Home Meah

The staff of the home thanked the church for the much needed donations.

Home Meah is an NGO and is subsidised by the Department of Social Development.

However, it cannot function without additional financial support from the community and benefactors.

Apart from financial support, the home always needs fresh food, milk formula, clothing, blankets, toiletries and nappies.
