PREVIEW: Municipality to reseal and repair damaged roads

Damaged roads may be in for a brighter future, with a municipal road resealing and repair programme in the works.

The municipality has embarked on programme to reseal damaged roads across town.

This was reportedly ‘in response to measured deterioration in road condition’.

Municipal officials gave feedback to continued reports of potholed and corrugated roads this month.

These problems have not been exaggerated.

Officials said the cause of potholing was identified as structural failure in the road surface.

The root fault was primarily with the asphalt layer.

Water in the underlying soil structure weakened the area beneath the road and created stress.

However, the problem may be mitigated by the Road Patching and Pothole Repairs Programme.
