Potholes that can swallow a car in Lupin Avenue and Willow Drive

Residents want this stretch of road fixed, as they say it is too dangerous to drive on

Potholes are a major problem that motorists face in Ladysmith, and they are all over.

Potholes big enough to swallow a small motor vehicle have popped up at the intersection of Lupin Avenue and Willow Drive.

DA councillor Valentino Murugan has had numerous calls about the massive potholes from residents and motorists in the area.

He says this route is frequently used by motorists who travel to and from Ezakheni on the new Protea Drive road.

“18-wheeler trucks can be seen using the road all the time, yet nobody does anything about it,” said an angry resident.

Cllr Murugan himself even damaged his vehicle at this very same intersection.

He has now written a letter to the municipal manager and will be submitting a motion in council on the matter.
