UPDATE: Fire destroys Pharmacy and Observation Ward at Bruntville Clinic

Fortunately none of the patients or clinic staff sustained any burns

The fire which broke out at the Bruntville Community Health Centre (Clinic) in Mooi River this morning was allegedly caused by an electrical fault.

Communications Officer at the Mpofana Municipality, Thandeka Dlamini explained that the Pharmacy and Observation Ward were badly burnt in the fire.

Fortunately none of the patients or clinic staff sustained any burns during the fire.

The N3TC fire engine also assisted the community, Municipal management, police, fire-fighters were also on scene this morning at approximately 8.30am.

“Patients won’t be turned away,” added Ms Dlamini.

An alternative method to treat patients is being discussed at the moment, while the cause of the fire is investigated.
