UPDATE: N3 at Mooi Toll Plaza remains closed after trucks torched last night

The N3 near Mooi River Toll Plaza remains closed and traffic is being diverted from the R103 through Estcourt

Millions of rands in assets went up in flames last night.

This was when protestors set fire to more than 20 trucks that were in the vicinity of the N3 near the Mooi Toll Plaza.

Traffic came to a standstill as motorists watched large flames and clouds of smoke fill the air.

At this stage it is believed that the protest is related to South African truck drivers being incensed that foreign drivers are allowed to operate on the roads, allegedly without valid permits.
