MUST READ: Suspect arrested for friends brutal murder in Dannhauser

The exact circumstances surrounding the brutal murder are still unclear at this time, and will remain subject to further police investigation.

A 23-year-old man appeared in the Dannhauser Magistrate’s Court after he allegedly murdering his friend, 21-year-old Sekwanele Msibi, on May 9.

According to Dannhauser SAPS Corporate Communications and Liaison Officer, Sergeant M. Nyembe, Msibi was severely assaulted with an iron rod at Shepstone Lake Farm.

“He received blows to both the head and body. He was rushed to hospital, but later died as a result of his injuries.”

Investigations led police to the arrest of the suspect, who was believed to have been the victim’s friend at the time.

The arrested suspect appeared in court on May 14, but the case was remanded to a later date.
