Shooting Update: No arrests made for shooting of municipal worker in Roosboom

He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the face and head

No arrests have been made regarding the brutal murder of an uThukela employee on Monday morning (May 14).

The deceased had been working for uThukela District Municipality for the past seven years in the Water & Technical Service Department as a general worker.

Police say that a case of murder is being investigated.

It is alleged that at about 6am on Monday, the 35-year-old was shot by two unknown suspects while in the Roosboom area.

He sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the face and head, and was declared dead at the scene.

The deceased has not yet been officially identified.

uThukela spokesperson Jabulani Mkhonza released the following message: “Our condolences go to the family, friends and colleagues. This is of course an overwhelming time of loss, with so much pain and many questions.”
