Update: Suspects face murder charges related to traditional healer’s death

Police pounced on the alleged killers in the Wembezi area when they least expected it

Two suspects appeared in the Estcourt Regional Court on Friday (May 25) for the murder of a traditional healer.

They previously appeared in the Bergville Magistrate’s Court and the case was remanded.

The murder was committed in a homestead in the Esqhingini area of Emmaus, Bergville.

The two suspects requested to consult with a known traditional healer, whom they had allegedly consulted in the past, and were allowed to enter the healer’s home.

Later in the day, family of the healer discovered her lifeless body.

They immediately called police and a manhunt for the suspects began. Police pounced on the alleged killers in the Wembezi area when they least expected it.

The men, both aged 31, were arrested and face murder charges.
