Commemorate Youth Day with a challenge

With just over two weeks until South Africa commemorates Youth Day on June 16, preparations for a local event are also in full swing.

To mark a historic day on the South African calendar, the Loskop Gijimas will be hosting their fourth annual Youth Day 15km Challenge.
The young running club has about 50 members that represent the club and is looking to grow the love for running in all communities.
With this in mind, the club has successfully hosted the Youth Day 15km Challenge with the hope of raising awareness about June 16 as well as raising funds for the club.

The event will be held on June 16 and starts at Loskop Emqedandaba at 8am. Registration begins at 6am. T-shirts and medals will be presented to the first 300 finishers.
Prizes to the value of R15 000 are up for grabs and this includes a sheep. Besides the 15km race, there will be a number of activities for spectators and participants, which includes a kiddies fun run, aerobics, indlamu, Zumba and a jumping castle.
