Three dead and five injured in two Dannhauser crashes

Drivers urged to be be cautious on the roads to avoid more fatalities

Three people were killed when a Toyota Etios (GP registration) and an Audi (ND registration) collided head-on on the N11.

The driver of the Audi alleged that he was driving towards Newcastle with a passenger when the collision occurred.

Two passengers and the driver from the Etios were killed instantly.

The driver of the Audi sustained no injuries, however, the passenger sustained slight injuries and was rushed to Madadeni Hospital for treatment.

A case of Culpable Homicide is under investigation.

Allen Farm Crash

In another incident in the Dannhauser area, four people were seriously injured when a Mercedez-Benz, in which they were travelling, overturned.

It is believed that that the driver was speeding on the gravel road in Allen Farm, when he lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.

Four passengers were injured and rushed to a local clinic before being transferred to Madadeni Hospital for further treatment. It is alleged that the driver fled the scene after the accident.

A case of reckless and negligent driving is under investigation.
