The Comrades Marathon is set to take place on Sunday (June 10).
There is always lots of excitement surrounding this race, as well as local involvement.
Runners from various Ladysmith running clubs will be taking part in the ‘Ultimate Human Race’. Emnambithi Striders have entered 13 runners, and LAC (Ladysmith Athletic Club) will have nine runners taking on this monumental marathon that has athletes from all over the world taking part.
There are over 21,000 participants this year, with the top ultra-marathon athletes going for the top 10 in order to secure a coveted gold medal.
We wish all the local runners the best of luck for Sunday.
Many roads are expected to be closed in the area of the race, so motorists are urged to plan accordingly.
