Shocking: Muddy water flows out of taps in Colenso

Residents living in Club Road, Colenso, were shocked when they woke up this morning (June 18) to find brown, muddy water coming out of their taps.
Even after letting the water run for a while and filling up a bathtub, the water was still brown, with sand in it.
Mr Malan, who lives in Club Road, says he is very disappointed with the service delivery they get in the town.
He asks: “How can people live with this kind of water coming out of the taps? How can we drink this water or bathe in it?”

A burst water pipe in Third Avenue has left residents of the street without water for a week, with no water tankers having been sent to the area.
IFP councillor Abbas Warasally was contacted by the residents to try and help. He commented that he is shocked that none of the problems in Colenso have been sorted out for the past two weeks, during which time he has been reporting the situation.
