Update: Deceased identified after being dumped in sack and weighed down with concrete blocks in Klip River

Chilling details of the mutilated corpse left family members in shock

About a month ago, Ezakheni police found a body dumped in a sack in the Klip River.

Warrant Officer Jacques Meyer from the Ladysmith Search & Rescue Unit recovered the body from the river, in the Pieters area near Ladysmith.

The body was found in a sack with concrete blocks inside the sack to weigh down the corpse in the river. Police say the man had sustained severe head injuries.

The deceased was recently identified by an Estcourt family as 25-year-old Bevin Jacobs from Colita.

According to sister paper the Estcourt and Midlands News, the family is distraught. Chilling details of the mutilated corpse left family members in a state of shock.

Speaking to the Estcourt and Midlands News, a close relative said: “The state of his body was very, very bad.”
