FIVE bullets to the head and one to the thigh claimed the life of a groom, on his wedding day, moments before he could pledge his love to his bride in a traditional ceremony.
Eric Zulu had just arrived at the Ntsele homestead in Nongoma, where the wedding was supposed to have taken place.
Three unknown men opened fire as Eric was approaching his bride’s family to greet them. Eric was killed while trying to flee from the gunmen, and an 18-year old girl, who was part of the wedding party, was shot through the mouth, but survived.

A case of murder and a case of attempted murder is being investigated by Nongoma SAPS, who are still unable to determine what the motive for the murder is.
One 9mm empty cartridge was recovered from the scene.
