39-year-old busted for unlicensed firearm and ammunition in Ntabamhlophe

Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Ahmed Khan said that the man was charged for being in possession of a firearm and ammunition without a licence

To curb the proliferation of unlicensed firearms in the country, police conduct regular operations to identify and seize weapons and ammunition.

Police officers from Ntabamhlophe set up a stop-and-search roadblock in the Dutch area. During their searches, a 39-year-old man came onto their radar.

After a search of the man, police recovered a 9mm pistol and ammunition.
