A suspect will face charges of being in possession of an unlicensed firearm, ammunition and drugs after police officers pounced on a premises in the St Chad’s area in the early hours of Friday morning (July 6).
Officers attached to the Uthukela SAPS Cluster Task Team had received information from an anonymous source that an occupant at the premises was in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The 44-year-old suspect was caught by surprise and when the officers conducted a search of his premises, they discovered that he was indeed in possession of an unlicensed revolver, which was loaded with ammunition.
But that’s not all the officers found…
They also found him to be in possession of 200 alleged heroin capsules. The capsules are valued at R10,000.
The suspect will appear in the Ezakheni Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (July 9).
