A total of six arrests were made in Ntabamhlophe on Friday.
Five men, who were part of a group, were found with buck meat and a skin. This was when Ntabamhlophe police accompanied by Ezemvelo KwaZulu-Natal Wildlife rangers descended on them in the Mondi forest.

The men are aged between 20 and 25 and have been charged with poaching and being in possession of stolen property.
Later that day, alert officers espied a vehicle laden with wooden poles.
“The driver had allegedly hired the vehicle and was unable to explain the origin of its load. He faces a charge of being in possession of suspected stolen property,” said police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.
The vehicle has been impounded.
