Following the devastating robbery at Estcourt Golf Club early this week, committee members are appealing to locals to be on the lookout for any of the items that were stolen.

On Monday evening (July 23) valuables to the value of R70 000 was stolen from the club when suspects gained entry through the roof of the building in Louise Street.

Among the stolen items were meat, eggs, alcohol, cash, a hi-fi, computer, two 53 inch Telefunken flat screen televisions, an alarm system, camera system and a 49 inch Samsung flat screen television.

During a meeting last night, club members discussed a way forward for the club and it was decided to reopen the premises.

 

“The club is open to the public, as we are now up and running,” explained Club President, George van Niekerk.

A case of housebreak-in is being investigated by the Estcourt detectives, this was confirmed by police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.
