Unlicensed firearm and ammunition recovered in Wembezi stop and search operation

An early morning stop and search roadblock yielded positive results for Wembezi police.

Last Monday, Visible Policing Officers held the operation on the Zwelisha main road. During the searches, police uncovered an unlicensed firearm from a man in his 30’s.

“The recovered firearm is a 9mm pistol with eight rounds. The suspect is due to appear in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court,” commented police spokesperson Warrant Officer Basheer Khan.
