Police reports revealed the victim and her boyfriend were walking past a school at Nelly Valley Farm, when they were accosted by the four suspects.

“The men stopped them and started to assault the boyfriend with knop-kierries and Sjamboks, until he managed to flee the scene, leaving his girlfriend behind,” said Sergeant Mfanafuthi Nyembe.

The men then kidnapped the victim and took to a house at Kiel-Kiel Farm, where they threatened to kill her with a knife, and each one proceeded to rape her.

However, it was said the fourth suspect showed some remorse, when he dropped the victim off at her friends house.

“He also gave his jacket to the victim as she was feeling cold.”

Her friends contacted the SAPS and a manhunt was immediately launched to find the four suspects.

The suspects were tracked and arrested, after it was determined that they were pupils at a local school in the Dannhauser area.

All four suspects aged, 16 to 19 years old, appeared at the Dannhauser Magistrate’s Court on charges of kidnapping and rape.

The case was remanded, pending further investigations by the Newcastle FCS Unit.
